How we help

How do we rehabilitate cognitive function?

Assessment and diagnosis

Before therapy we assess the degree of the disorder and set goals. Every therapy programme is individual.

Methods

Neurological rehabilitation methods are selected according to the patient’s condition and the type of neurological deficit.

Intensity

The right stimulation delivered over a substantial amount of time brings faster results.

Safety

Physical effort is always adapted to the capacity of the patient’s body.

Cognitive difficulties rarely occur in isolation. They are often accompanied by difficulties with speaking and understanding, which is why we combine cognitive training with speech rehabilitation, and for some patients also with rehabilitation of the weakened upper limb.

One of the most common symptoms is problems with memory — we describe these in more detail in our article on memory loss after a stroke. It is also worth remembering that depression after a stroke can contribute to a decline in cognitive functioning, and we base the therapy as a whole on neuropsychological rehabilitation.
