Questions about the stay

Rehabilitation stays

How many hours of rehabilitation are there each day?

On all of our neurological rehabilitation programmes, with the exception of spinal cord injury, we provide 5 × 45 minutes of individual therapy each day, plus 2 × 45 minutes on Saturdays and public holidays if they fall within your stay.

Are the rooms and the building adapted for people with disabilities?

Yes. The centre was designed with people with disabilities in mind. You can move between floors using a lift adapted for wheelchair users, and the bathrooms have no glass screens or thresholds. There are also forms of accommodation available for people who are mobile on their own.

Is there an extra charge for a carer’s stay?

No. A patient who is not fully independent is accompanied by a companion in the role of carer. There is no additional charge for their accommodation and meals when staying directly at the centre. When staying in an apartment away from the centre, there is likewise no charge for the companion’s accommodation itself - the only additional cost is any meals.

Why do rehabilitation stays take place with a loved one present?

Having a loved one present is an important part of rehabilitation. The patient feels more at ease, and the carer takes on the role of everyday support, just as they would at home. The centre has rehabilitation beds available and, on request, also hoists, pressure-relief mattresses and support handles. You can also arrange physical assistance from an assistant for an additional charge.

Can you come for a rehabilitation stay without a carer?

This is only possible if the patient can walk unaided without balance problems, takes their own medication, attends meals and sessions in line with the schedule, uses the toilet independently, manages their own personal hygiene, dresses themselves and has no short- or long-term memory problems.

Are there shops, pharmacies and other essentials near the centre?

Yes. There is a grocery supermarket a few hundred metres away. A pharmacy is also within walking distance.

How long does a rehabilitation stay last?

Rehabilitation stays are available in 2-, 3- and 4-week options, tailored to the patient’s needs.

What is included in the price of a stay with a room at the centre?

The price includes rehabilitation (5×45 minutes daily + 2×45 minutes on Saturdays), accommodation for 1 or 2 people and full board for the patient and carer. Meals for the carer accompanying the patient are free of charge and an integral part of this type of stay.

What is included in the price of a stay with an apartment away from the centre?

The price includes rehabilitation (5×45 minutes daily + 2×45 minutes on Saturdays) and accommodation for 1 or 2 people in an apartment. Meals are optional — you can choose an option with no meals, with lunches only, or with breakfasts and lunches, for one or two people.

What is the accommodation like in an apartment away from the centre?

There are more than a dozen apartments located between 800 metres and 3 km from the centre. Some of them are accessible for wheelchair users. For the more distant locations, daily transport to the centre can be arranged.

Does the centre arrange transport for patients travelling from far away?

Yes. We arrange passenger and medical transport from various parts of Poland and Europe. We also transport patients from airports.

What meals are available at the centre?

Fresh breakfasts, lunches and dinners are prepared at the centre every day. The residential building has a dining room and a kitchen. Meals are included in the price of a stay with a room at the centre. For a stay with an apartment away from the centre, meals can be added for an extra charge. With your own accommodation, meals at the centre are not available.

The PAJĄK device

Frequently asked questions about rehabilitation on the PAJĄK (Spider Therapy device)

Do other centres have the original PAJĄK?

No. No rehabilitation centre in Poland or anywhere in the world has Norman’s permission to carry out rehabilitation using the PAJĄK device. You may come across various substitutes, but such rehabilitation is not authorised by our centre.

How does rehabilitation on PAJĄK differ from other forms of therapy?

The PAJĄK device replaces several pairs of physiotherapists’ hands and works like a dynamic standing frame. It offers a wider range of positions than traditional therapy carried out without this device, and the therapist can focus on stimulating and facilitating correct movement patterns rather than solely on supporting the patient.

Can someone who cannot stand on their own be rehabilitated using PAJĄK?

Yes. PAJĄK makes it possible to adopt any position required, depending on the needs the therapist identifies, while at the same time helping the patient to sense their own body better in space.
